These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the ILEES website and the training, assessment, certification and verification services provided by the International Lifting Equipment Engineers Society (“ILEES”). By using the website or our services you agree to these terms.
01Definitions
- “Candidate” — a person who enrols in an ILEES course or assessment.
- “Client” — an individual or organisation that books or pays for training.
- “Training Center” — an organisation accredited by ILEES to deliver its programmes.
- “Credential” — an ILEES certificate, operator ID card, center accreditation or membership certificate.
02Use of the website
You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access, disrupt the service, scrape data in bulk (including automated use of the verification service), or use the website to send unsolicited communications. We may suspend access where we reasonably suspect misuse.
03Course information
We aim to keep course descriptions, durations and content accurate. Programmes may be updated to reflect changes in standards, regulations or equipment. Specific dates, venues and fees are confirmed by the delivering training center or by ILEES at the time of booking.
04Bookings and payment
A booking is confirmed when it has been accepted in writing and any required payment or purchase order has been received. Fees are payable as stated on the invoice. Cancellations, transfers and refunds are handled under our Booking & Cancellation Policy.
05Candidate responsibilities
- Provide accurate personal information and valid identification.
- Arrive on time, fit for work and with the required personal protective equipment.
- Follow the instructions of trainers and assessors and all site safety rules.
- Act honestly during assessments. Cheating, impersonation or misconduct may lead to removal from the course without refund and withholding or revocation of a credential.
06Assessment and certification
Credentials are issued only to candidates who meet the published assessment criteria. Attendance alone does not guarantee certification. Assessment decisions may be appealed as described in our Certification & Verification Policy.
07Use of credentials
Credentials remain the property of ILEES and are issued for the named holder only. They must not be altered, copied to misrepresent competence, or used after expiry, suspension or revocation. A credential confirms that the holder met the assessment standard on the date of assessment; employers remain responsible for workplace authorisation, supervision and site-specific familiarisation.
08Training centers
Accredited training centers deliver ILEES programmes under a separate accreditation agreement and must meet ILEES quality requirements. ILEES may audit, suspend or withdraw accreditation where requirements are not met.
09Intellectual property
All course materials, assessments, logos, website content and the ILEES name are owned by or licensed to ILEES. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works without our written permission, except for personal reference by enrolled candidates.
10Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, ILEES is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from the way a holder or employer uses a credential or carries out lifting operations. Our total liability in connection with a booking is limited to the fees paid for that booking.
11Third-party links
The website may link to external sites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
12Changes
We may update these terms. The version published on the website at the time you use our services applies.
13Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, and disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of its courts, unless mandatory local law where you live provides otherwise.
