The ASME B30 series is a family of US safety standards for cranes, hoists, slings and related equipment. Each volume covers a specific equipment type, for example B30.5 for mobile and locomotive cranes, B30.2 for overhead and gantry cranes and B30.9 for slings.
The standards cover construction, installation, inspection, testing, maintenance and operation, and are frequently referenced by OSHA and by employers worldwide.
